
Galician veal
Galician beef is a very well-known product in Spain. There is a protected geographical indication (PGI) recognized by the Spanish state as well as the European Union that regulates and protects the production and distribution of this type of meat.
This PGI allows Galician beef meat exclusively from calves born, bred and slaughtered in Galicia, which come from native breeds and crosses and that overcame a rigorous program of integral control.
The feeding of calves is based on breast milk, forage and concentrates from vegetables and exempt from any animal subproduct or prohibited substance. The effort carried out by this IGP makes possible to ensure that Galician beef has the highest quality standards.
